We are going on vacation next month to Las Vegas and got a good deal on flight and hotel. The airline is Northwest, i have never flown with them before, but i heard them called Northworst lol Guess if they are bad at least the flight is only alittle over 3 hours.

Anyone have good or bad experiences with them?

Thanks

We flew from Atlanta to Ottawa, Canada via Detroit and back on Northwest Air 2 years ago at Christmas. The flights were good - we even landed in freezing rain in Ottawa; we would have no problems flying with them again.

I have flown them trans-pacific (9hrs flight time), the service wasn't great but the aircraft was new, seats were comfortable (as comfortable as a packed economy class can be), food was good and AVOD was excellent. I would probably fly with them again given the chance

They are probably different for internal flights though.

We flew with them last year. From Atlanta to Cali. They were okay. We didn't have any problems, and on the way back, got a free upgrade (do to missing a connecting flight- not our fault) so I was happy.

Thanks for the replies so far.

It is a straight thru flight so hopefully we have that going for us, plus its an early flight, maybe first of the day.

I fly Northwest frequently and have no concerns. They treat me fairly and the service is good. We had a flight delay once and they comped our meals in the airport and gave us 500 dollar vouchers. I thought that was extremely fair. Their frequent flyer program is also very good.

I have flown trans-Atlantic with NWA on several occasions, as well as all the other U.S. carriers. When you consider that in all honesty there isn't an awful lot of difference between the standard of service in coach/economy class, then it really comes down to price, and the "little" things, especially the in-flight entertainment. On those two points, NWA are for me the standout option.

Their prices are always amongst the lowest quoted, and they have a superb "on-demand" in-flight entertainment system (you know, being able to watch one of hundreds of movies when you want to, not when the captain starts the cycles, being able to pause, rewind etc, being able to create your own virtual jukebox from hundreds of track listings, interactive in-flight quiz, etc) that used to be reserved for business class - highly recommended.

However, seeing as you're only flying domestically, I guess none of that applies to you, does it! What I would say though, is that despite their long-haul fleet consisting of pretty new aircraft, they are still operating over a hundred ancient DC9's internally, that, quite frankly, wouldn't be certified as airworthy in Europe.

Don't worry though - I'm sure you'll be fine!!

My biggest complaint about Northwest is their baggage handlers. You can expect your luggage to be handled extremely rough. We always have at least 1 bag damaged. I've watched them unload a plane before and they were throwing the bags from the cargo area to the ground with complete disregard.
