Can you apply for both the k3 and CR-1 at the same time? Or do you have to choose one specific route? Both I-130 and I-129f are approved. Now I need to know if I can apply for both at the same time and see which one is faster...thank you guys for tolerating my hysteria!

You can keep both processes running if you want but if you do, the opportunity to apply for an actual visa will be for the K3 first. It's possible you'll have the K3 visa in hand before the CR1 process gets to the interview stage. If so, you'll have paid CR1 related monies you won't get back.

There's lots of discussion on this for obvious reasons. Read to your heart's content.

Yes, you can do both. If your NVC process for I-130 completes before your K3 interview, it will be changed to interview for CR1/IR1 instead.

Have you already have an interview date for k3?

You may want to see whether it will be worthwhile to delay the interview to wait for the I-130 to catch up.

IMO, CR1/IR1 is much better visa, one of the biggest incentive is: no CIS nightmare for another 2 years for CR1, 10 years for IR1!!!

thanks so much everyone. No, we don't have our interview date yet, the embassy still hasn't sent the Packet 3 but they sent us an email with the documents they want so my husband is completing them now. I just want him to be here as soon as possible and don't mind the extra expense of the k3. thanks for all your help, I need all the feedback I can get!

If that's what you want, it would be silly to throw money at the CR1 process then.
