Teen pregnancy is an epidemic that will never seize.Parents can educate their child(ren) over and over about unprotected sex and teenage pregnancy. But ultimately it is up to the teenager to heed those warnings and effects of becoming a parent at such a young age.

I urge any teenagers to enjoy their "teenage years" and innocence. There will come a time when they grow up and become secure in life

I have actually be disappointed and distraught because we are dealing with this issue and my SIL as we speak. I swear I personally talked to her till I was blue in the face, not to mention how many other family members had "the talk" with her.

You are so right.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

I was editing my post while you were posting this one hehe.

But on a serious note sorry to hear that you're going through the same situation with your SIL.

It hurts so much to see young people quitting school, struggling to buy baby food, diapers etc..... that stuff isn't cheap.

Having a baby at such a young age is not "cute" nor "glamorous".When I turn on the tube and see folks having baby after baby out of wedlock

and by different babies fathers and being put on a pedestal for it.being paid millions for baby pics is crazy to me.

She just graduated from school. She had future job training secured. It saddens me now to think of where this might take her. Jamaica is not particularly kind to young girls with babies.

It's a "glamorous" thing for these teenage girls to have babies. They really don't understand that they are bring a human being into the world, and not some toy they can discard when they choose. They see the Nicole Richies, Jamie Lynn Spears having babies and unfortunatley they idolise these girls and want to follow suit.

It's a sad reality but teenage pregancy is not going to go away. As you said we the parents have to educate our kids and hopefully they'll do what is right. I'm married with one child and it is still a struggle for me and my husband, far less those girls who most times have to raise their themselves.

Life is so strange but it sure keeps you on your toes!!!
