This is very true... my mom grew up in Memphis, and was raised on those fattening foods. Thank goodness for my Pittsburgh raised dad, who looked at her crazy when she wanted to fix ham and beans, fried potatoes, greens, and cornbread. I guess he saved us from being part of that obese percentage...lol.

**except I still love sweet tea**

dont forget that everything is cooked in bacon grease or with salt pork too. When I go to arkansas to visit family with my non pork eating husband or my vegetarian brother in law its quite a challenge to find anything at all for them to eat.

yea I know.. that's why veggies are always tasty in country kitchens.. cuz they boil the stuff with fat backs lol..

The first time I saw my hubby (who is from AL) boil the butter beans with a pork hock...I was like #######??? Luckily I don't like the whole biscuit and gravy thing although I make it like a pro (my step son taught me) :P ....last time I ate it the grease made me physically ill so now I avoid it....no sweet tea for me either. We have good eating habits at the moment and I really don't want that to change....at 5ft 2 I can't afford extra pounds.....I have already made him promise me he will run me to the gym every morning

I should let it go but.........

5,000 gallons of molasses spill on Texas highway

SUGAR LAND, Texas (AP) -- A sticky mess has been cleaned up after an overturned tanker truck poured 5,000 gallons of molasses onto a major Texas highway.

Drivers heading to Sugar Land were rerouted Thursday after the afternoon accident shut down Texas 6 at Southwest Freeway for eight hours.

City of Sugar Land spokeswoman Pat Pollicoff told The Houston Chronicle the road was closed until midnight Thursday because of the coating of "healthy, all natural molasses.'' The spilled molasses was supposed to be used in cattle food. (sure it was)

The 26-year-old driver of the truck, Joe Albert Loya, was taken to a hospital with minor head injuries.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
