Hey, you're doing good, got your EAD...

To find out approximate processing times for your case, look on the USCIS website under your local field office, this will give you a better idea as to how long you'd have to wait.

Currently under Charlotte, NC office, they are processing cases filed June 17, 2007, so officially about 9 more months to go until they get to April 2008 filers. Of course, the processing pace seems to have picked up recently, but everyone is bracing themselves for 6-12 months start to end.

Best of luck!

I'm also confused with how slowly things seem to be processing - I filed for AOS in the end of February 2008, and quite quickly got Travel permission and Work authorization, but nothing has happened after that. When I check online on uscis.gov, there is only some old information and nothing at all recent. How do you get these updates that many people have in the signature, with so many dates and info on what happened (this one touched, that one touched, etc.)? Me and my husband want to see my parents and travel abroad in the fall (we're in the USA), but I don't know how it's possible when the interview could be "at any moment", since I don't know what's happening. My local office is Charlotte NC, and we sent the papers to Texas if I remember correctly. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Do you recommend to wait after the interview and receiving the green card, or do you think I can get some accurate estimation of the procession so much so that I can travel for a couple months, and be back in time for the interview? Thanks!

I hope not to Tx as it should have been Chicago.

While it is not reccomended you can request an interview reschedule if it conflicts with a planned trip.

YMMV
