I read a lot on the forums and i'm really suprised some i've coming across that have had their K-1 approved in 3 or 4 months. The few I looked at were all filed at Vermont and in 3 or 4 months their Fiance was in the states. They also didn't have a RFE and although what I read is great news for those that were processed this quickly. I'm not getting my hopes up at all, i'm accepting that mine will take a very long time. I am doing this so I won't get very dissappointed as the months go by.

I've also seen many that have started this process years ago and still nothing. I just don't understand how some filed back in 1996, if this is correct, and still not approved or even an interview. I wonder if maybe some have forgotten to fill in their timeline, as this just doesn't seem right.

I've been thinking how could it take that long, unless maybe it's the country the fiance/spouse is from, causing the delay. No matter, I wish us all a speedy approval time. :) And for those that did get approved so fast.. be very thankful. :)

i have been reading about the same subject . and i posted a topic about that .

it really drives me nuts

i think yeah it depends on the country the fiance(e)/spouse is from . and every case is different

sometime it takes 2 or 3 months to get approved and sometime it takes 8 or 9 months ....

me and my fiancee will file for the visa next month and we hope that everything will work out for us.and we will file at Vermont service center to .

my best wishes for you and good luck (F)

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Well, i'm not getting my hopes up by what others have accomplished. I will just tell myself, it'll take a year or more for the whole process before he gets his visa. If I didn't make mistakes on the I-129f or they don't find something else to cause delay.. then maybe i'll be lucky as well and things go fast and smoothly. Although i'm not thinking that way at all.

Considering how long things take it's best to file as soon as possible to get the ball a rollin. As far as where ur fiance is from.. I don't care where they are from.. if they have NO back ground to be concerned of, then everyone should be processed the same. I mean they all go through the same security checks I hope. A bad peep can be from any country and all should go through the same process.

I just find it hard to think some filed in 1996 and still nothing. :( Maybe things will improve with the system and approvals will be speedy.

Terminology is the key! Your petition can be approved rather quickly...I think the "normal" timeframe is 6 months. You might get an RFE, which might set you back another month or two. Then from there it goes to NVC which can take another month or two. Again, this is all about your petition....Depending on where your Consulate is (the beneficiary's interview place), it depends on how backlogged they are on granting interviews. In Montreal not that long ago, it was over 8 months to even get an interview! After the interview, you might be stuck in AP, while they're still doing security checks. What you get at the consulate, or embassy is a visa. The only thing up until that point that's approved is the petition, which is basically permission to be interviewed for the visa.

Not everyone has been so lucky. Weve been waiting for a few months now and only been "touched" once. I guess it depends on where your fiance is from. One's from MENA seem to go slower than others....

To be honest, I think it makes ####### all difference where the fiance is from. I've seen peeps from here there and everywhere getting approved in 3 or 4 months, and others from the same here there and everywhere still waiting after 6 or 7 months. Fwiw, I'm from the UK and still waiting after exactly 5 months.

I do think the country has alot to do with it. The best thing is to find as many VJ people from Egypt to see how thier process is going or has went. My hubby was in Pakistan, but he had a chance for student visa to UK. I think because we ended up fileing when he was there made it easier.

Good luck and just be patient. If you think too much you can get stressed for things that dont even occur. I know I did. Its hard but be positive. Its not impossible. You will get it.

At the uscis stage it's not about the Country unless it has to do with a common name or something to that effect that can hold you up in security checks for some time. IMBRA laws, past criminal offenses, previous petitions.... or simple database checks can hold you up for quite some time.

At the Consulate level it has everything to do with the Country. Some Country's have much higher rates of fraud and therefore there is more scutiny and AP involved.

The beginning of the year Vermont was approving some in less than a month. Now they're taking 3+. Happens all the time.

We applied for K1 in 2006 and it took about 3 months for the I-129F to be approved - my husband was in the U.S. about 6 months after sending everything off.

It seems that USCIS is taking more time now than before. Honestly, it's hard to find any rhyme or reason with Immigration.

It may be true that some countries are treated differently than others, but IMHO, that happens more at the consulate than with USCIS (in the U.S.).
