Oops sorry, I stand corrected. It does not need to be consecutive time as long as you fulfill the 12 months/ 1,250 hours requirement

DOL FMLA FAQs

Q: Which employees are eligible to take FMLA leave?

Employees are eligible to take FMLA leave if they have worked for their employer for at least 12 months, and have worked for at least 1,250 hours over the previous 12 months, and work at a location where at least 50 employees are employed by the employer within 75 miles.

Q: Do the 12 months of service with the employer have to be continuous or consecutive?

No. The 12 months do not have to be continuous or consecutive; all time worked for the employer is counted.

Q: Do the 1,250 hours include paid leave time or other absences from work?

No. The 1,250 hours include only those hours actually worked for the employer. Paid leave and unpaid leave, including FMLA leave, are not included.

Q: How do I determine if I have worked 1,250 hours in a 12-month period?

Your individual record of hours worked would be used to determine whether 1,250 hours had been worked in the 12 months prior to the commencement of FMLA leave. As a rule of thumb, the following may be helpful for estimating whether this test for eligibility has been met;

24 hours worked in each of the 52 weeks of the year; or

over 104 hours worked in each of the 12 months of the year;or

40 hours worked per week for more than 31 weeks (over seven months) of the year.

Saludos,

Caro

that's good news, as she had a week or two break between jobs, but she'll have been there almost two years by delivery time.

this is all for MWR

May 12 2007 - started at recreat. diviv. as admin.

Feb 15 2008 - they terminated my position and I was offered to work at the gym which I accepted almost in the end of my last 30 days

Mar 6 2008 - started at the gym (no day in between jobs, I continued on the old one)

Apr 24 2008 - last day at the gym (I resigned 2 weeks prior)

May 1 or 2 , cant remember 2008 - announcement for CYMS Tech position at child youth division / interview / hired

May 15 2008 - started at new position

I was a total of 1 week officially not being an employee and 2 weeks waiting for my 1st day. When I started to work they said reinstatement in my paperwork and my Comp. access card was still valid, i was in the system.

So yeah, no idea what they're gonna tell me. I hope to hear good news. I still don't know how am I gonna talk to people at the personnel office about that, since nobody knows I'm pregnant.

And I was going to tell them, but I want to ask for leave without pay to go to BRazil in OCtober, which will be a problem already, if I let them know that I'm leaving now for ten days, then next year I'll need another 6 weeks off, all of that before the end of my 1 year probation nobody will be happy about it.

I didn't find anything on the NAF employee handbook saying if it's consecutive, I'm so happy it isn't.

Yep, I love this owl. I don't know why, but it makes me LOL everytime. Something in the eyes.......

Should be ok as long as you cook it tomorrow.

I'm really nervous about Gustav and my family. Ugh. I hate being so far away from everyone. Yet, I suppose being far away from a killer storm is a good thing.
