Nothing for us tomorrow but Sunday we go back to the doctor. That's about all we've got going.

There is a loud rumble outside. The whole house is shaking.

no, no. the ground wasn't shaking. just a very loud rumble outside that continued for at least 60-90 seconds. kind of like when a plane flies above, except louder, longer and closer.

Do you think it could have been a big construction vehicle? Years ago when I still lived with my parents, the room started shaking and the dishes were clanging and I thought, we aren't supposed to have earthquakes. It was 2 big vehicles outside, a steam roller and some other thing.

Possibly.

There was this corporate building near me that was demolished a few months ago. As recently as a few days ago, the whole lot was full of big blocks of the old building. This morning, on the drive in, I noticed all the blocks were gone and there's just lots of piles of finely ground dust left. Maybe this is what I heard last night?

Btw this piece of land is where the low-income rentals I've talked about are going in later this year or early next.

I'm back to Edinburgh tonight, and have tickets to some of the Festival. Fawlty Towers and Jimeon. Looking forward to some down time.

I don't know what kind of low income rentals they are building near you, but here they built some of these over the past few years and they are actually very nice. You had to make at least certain amount(these aren't free places to live or where they adjust your rent according to income, it's a set rent), but couldn't make over another amount to rent there. They are beautiful looking apts and as far as I know there haven't been problems. I don't know what the buildings are like in your town, I mean we don't have any high rises and they are Florida style so it's several 2 story complexes. But where I live is probably way different than a bigger city area so it can't truly compare.
