Hi all,

Two quick questions on domestic travel (within the US).

I am the K-1 and the wife is the US sponsor; we recently got married and now that we finally filed for AOS (I-485), we are thinking of having a belated getaway in Sep within the US which will involve plane travel.

Two questions.

1) Are there any issues with ID at the airport for me? More specifically, I have my valid foreign passport (valid for at least 6 months after the travel return date) but the only visa I have on it of course is the K-1 (which will expire some time in Aug, about a month before we travel).

Since I am within the US, are there any issues with traveling by plane within the US? What documents do I need to carry with me apart from my passport?

2) As part of AOS (I-485) I also filed for EAD; in theory, the biometrics could coincide on the week we'll be away. Of course if that happens we'll know in advance. Is it possible to reschedule the biometrics appointment if such a thing happens?

Thanks in advance

Pi

1) you are fine with your passport as long as the plane tickets are in your passport name

2)yes

I am truly sorry for the huge delay in a reply; I had been very busy in the days following my post and then I forgot to re-post!

Thank you once again for your invaluable help fwaguy! Kudos to you :star:

I just wanted to add that my biometrics appointment notice has already arrived (to be had in about two weeks' time), only a week after I had submitted the AOS package (after receiving first the package receipts from USCIS). I admit that they seem to be really working on the clock these days. Bravo to them.

Anyway, I just wanted to add that while it is indeed possible to reschedule, as fwaguy said, it seems that you cannot set up a specific time of your choice but they will send you a new time and date when they receive this notice they sent you with a tick placed in a place that asks for a reschedule (and you should make a copy of it first of course); and then, before you confirm your new appointment date with them (by receiving a new notice probably in a week or two after you send yours) you really should not even think of setting your holiday date. However as that seems to me to be approximately two weeks ahead of when you actually receive it (on average, from my own exp here and from other peoples'), it really should not be a huge problem for anyone who is planning a SHORT vacation (e.g. a belated honeymoon etc.)

Again, thanks a lot!

Pi
