Well all of that is good to know

The military is not an issue for my husband - he's finished his service and he's over 30 :)

any egyptian married to a foreigner cannot serve in the military because of security issues.

not all the time.

there are so many Egyptian men who are married to foreigner women ( American women for example )and they serve in the military .Olivia's husband is serving now in the Egyptian military(she is American woman ).

so now in Egypt it does not matter if you are married to a foreign or not to serve in the military.

Yes, Im sorry I should have made myself more clear....My husband says if he had already answered/entered before he got married then yes he would have to serve...however...if he was one of the ones not called yet to answer/enter and he got married, then they would not accept him.....This is my understanding.....anything is possible.

Well as of this year the Egyptian military is taking Egyptians married to foreign spouses. My Husband was taken in January, another Egyptian/American couple I know, Ahmed & Melissa, who just had their first baby, Omar, got the sudden recruitment letter, and another Egyptian/American couple living in Egypt also got recruitment for the spouse. Plus it is rumored that the Egyptian Parliment may be in the process of attempting to pass a law that Egyptian males can not marry until the age of 32 to try to resolve the former loop hole of them marrying foreign brides to get the exemption letter from the military and then divorcing their wives after they recieve the letter.
