The USA recognizes and has marriage cert on file when you applied for green-card, so whether or not he becomes a US citizen will make no difference on marital status.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I don't think it will affect your marriage at all .

but my question is why he want to eliminate his Egyptian citizenship ? i think its not good idea .

cause if he do that and if he move back to Egypt someday everything will be so hard for him . cause they will treat him as American . like he will have to pay fee to stay in Egypt and if you send your children to school they will charge them as American which is so much expensive ....and so on.

if i was in his shoes i would keep it and be a dual citizen .

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

From everything I have found, Egypt does not recognize dual citizenship.... I do believe they eliminate the Egyptian citizenship if they know you hold another  I could be entirely incorrect, but I found this in some research last year.

I know someone who I can ask for sure tomorrow ... he's Egyptian friend of my husband with US citizenship who has agressively and blatently used that fact while there to some interesting effect

 You can have Dual citizenship...the only thing it effects is his military requirements......any egyptian married to a foreigner cannot serve in the military because of security issues.

:D I know many with dual citizenships, either from USA or other countries :D

Also any children you have are also intitled to the Egyptian Citizenship as long as the father is Egyptian. The wife of any Egyptian can also apply for Citizenship based on her marriage. They do not grant Citizenship to men married to Egyptian women.

You can also find all this information on the US Egyptian Embassy website.

any egyptian married to a foreigner cannot serve in the military because of security issues.

not all the time.

there are so many Egyptian men who are married to foreigner women ( American women for example )and they serve in the military .Olivia's husband is serving now in the Egyptian military(she is American woman ).

so now in Egypt it does not matter if you are married to a foreign or not to serve in the military.
