Hello everyone,

I would like to ask anyone who has the same case or anyone who knows which one is the best route for me to take in bringing up my daughter here in the United States.

I entered as K3 last December 2005 and got my green card January 2007. My daughter is 17 years old now and we would like to bring her after she finish her college. She was included in the k3 petition but she did not join me during the interview since we want her to finish her studies first in the Philippines. So which is the best and quickest route for us to take? shall we file a follow-to-join or file I-130?

Any comments and suggestions is highly appreciated.

Thanks!

I believe after you receive your green card, your daughter is out of K-4 status since it is a derivative of a K-3 status. Your SO would have to file I-130 for son/daughter to bring her to US

Follow to join (K-4) can only be applied for within 1 year of getting K-3.

You will need to apply for an IR-1 visa for daughter by filing form I-130.

US citizen spouse needs to file this for step-child, this results in an immediate visa number being issued, If LPR files it, the child would end up waiting a long time for a visa number (F-2)

Time to update profile, you are AOS approved, not K-3: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

I have a similar issue, and the answer sees to be file the I-130 (the citizen as petioner). The issue for me is K1/K2, but at this point, I don't think there is uch difference
