surprise party birthday cake ideas

Saturday I'm making a bday cake for a surprise birthday party for two of my friends. I can't decide what I want it to look like. I plan on making it 2 tiers and my friend throwing the party kinda wants to have an early 90s theme for the party. Not really sure if she's going to stick to it or not so I don't think the cake design will really matter that much as far as the 90s thing. Anyone have suggestions or ideas of something you really like? Photos please! I can recreate most cakes I've seen online. Don't want loads of details because I don't want to spend too much time on it. I want at least 2 tiers. They're both female and will be 24 and 27.

I found one that looks pretty damn surprising but it was used as a 1st bday cake. take off the 1 and the bear. dunno.
