Hi,

my aunt filed a petition for my mom in 1997(visa type is f-4).

we recieved the choice of agent form and completed and sent them back, choosing our aunt in the US as our agent.

They recieved-230 form 3 months ago and now waiting for us to send aditional documents required(passport, marriage certificates etc),it wil take another 3 weeks to send those documents to them.

Now what i want to know is that i m derivative beneficiary(cuz my mom being the beneficiary) and i wil turn 21 on january24,2009.

my questions are

1.How long will it take for the NVC take to complete the case and send to the embassy???

2.is there any way we can tell them to expedite the process???(they say that if a person immigrating to the US is about to turn 21 in two months only then they are to b informed and when they will recieve the documents passport etc i will surely b 6 months away from being 21)

3.The embassy takes months and make people wait for long times before calling for an interview???(e.g, our acquanted who submitted DS-230 in feb 2007 and interviewed in november means took 8 months untill they got their interview date).

what can i do cuz i m the gonna turn 21.....

is there any way to tell the embassy to expedite the process???]

plz help me and tell me some ways to expedite all the processes that our file will have to go through right from submmiting ds-230 to till interview date??

i tried to find some information in the forums of tthis websites but they were written in general form for all types of visa and couldnt get what i wanted....

my uncle(agent as well as petitioner) there in the US is doesnt know much about forums and browsing(all he knows is checking his email and open websites whose addresses are known to him,he cant do search on forums and goolge etc).so, tell me the ways and i will pass them onto my uncle to expedite....

Sara, your mother's case is with NVC, check NVC's official website for expedites as USCIS has different conditions for expedite than NVC. Mostly only those cases are expedited where there is a life and death emergency. As for the interview being scheduled at the embassy, I think as soon as your case has been completed at NVC, it will be forwarded to Islamabad and they will call you for the interview. Here's the phone number to NVC: +1 603 334 0700...Call this number and punch in your receipt number from the case which was submitted at USCIS. It should begin with 3 letters like WAC or something followed by a numerical code. The automated voice response will then give you information about your case....by first telling you the assigned case number followed by information at which point your case is currently it. Know that being a beneficiary, you or your mother would not be able to speak to someone on the hotline at NVC as the operators or representatives there only speak to the Petitioners.

Also, you should ask your family to speed up the process of completing documents from here so as soon as they are received in the US, they can be posted by your aunt. Use TCS for delivery as it normally takes about 5 days for ordinary post...doesn't cost much either and you can track your documents online on FexEx's website once it will leave TCS center in Dubai.

I do not know about the condition of expediting a case at NVC and Embassy considering your age. Hurry up or you'll have to stay back and wait till your mother can sponsor you.

regards,

Sara.
