Cool! Gdansk is a really cool city. And my hometown is probably 2 hours away from Radom. As for the birth cert, you can get a sworn translator to translate it. The way they do it looks very professional. Just have her family take care of it in Poland. We have a Polish-speaking thread on this forum (up top, stickied), you can invite her to join and chat with us. There's another girl from Gdansk there. :)

I think getting a sworn translator to translate it, is a waste of money. For AOS I translated my husband's birth certificate, and got it notarized for free. If your fiance is fluent in both Polish & English she can do it herself and save the $.

Gdansk is beautiful! That's the area where my husband is from.

I was always under the impression that it had to be done by a third party. Besides, when you get it done professionally your translated birth cert looks like an official document. But oh well, whatever.
