Hi,

I just got here a month back.

I have the records for two vaccines as of now - MMR and Tetanus.

Which other vaccination is absolutely necessary to take, before I get the vaccination info transferred onto i693?

Is this general information or do i have to contact my local civil surgeon.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

THANKSSSS

Well,

My wife just had hers done and when we asked our civil surgeon he told us we needed the MMR, Tetanus, and Varicela. Now the Varicela is a 2 shot vaccination but as long as you get the first shot that will suffice. Once you have gotten these vaccinations you could go ahead and have your civil surgeon fill out an I-639A which is the supplimental form for people who have had their medicals done within the last year by an approved immigration surgeon either in their native country or here in the USA.

it depends on the country where youre going to have youre medical for the k1 so basically your homecountry. ive read about differing requirements for people from different countries. i think you can find something about the vaccination req on the uscis homepage or even on the page of the us embassy where youre going to have your interview. there will also just be a couple doctors offices that are able to do the medical for visa applications.....

the vaccinations i had to have at least at the point of filing for aos after the marriage were:

mmr

tetanus

polio

chicken pox

those are the ones i remember. but as i said it depends, even on the sex and also the age of a person...........

you dont need all the required vaccinations at the point of your interview for the k1 but you definately need them for aos, so id suggest to get them in your home country. im pretty sure youll safe some money that way and youll get it over with and dont have to worry about it anymore!!

Take a close look at the DS3025 that you should have received from the doctor overseas. It should tell you which vaccines you didn't get. It probably says "vaccine history incomplete", if it says that you will see which ones are ticked off as "not medically appropriate" (those are the ones you won't need to get) or "not routinely available" (which means your doctor probably didn't have them available at the time of your medical) and that's the one you should get.

Mine said VARICELLA- not routinely available, so I had to go to a CIVIL SURGEON and he knew what to do. If you are missing any vaccines you can get them done wherever is the cheapest (civil surgeons will rather overcharge you for them) and bring the record to the CS. Many people have contacted Dr. Arnold who has transferred the info from DS-3025 to I-693 for 20$.
