McCain addresses La Raza, reaffirms support for comprehensive immigration reform (a.k.a. amnesty)

Speaking Monday to the National Council of La Raza's annual conference, McCain said he has not abandoned immigration reform.

...

"I do ask for your trust that when I say I remain committed to fair, practical and comprehensive immigration reform, I mean it."

...

McCain maintains that his pivot during the Republican primaries, when he was under constant fire from anti-illegal-immigration GOP hardliners such as Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., merely represents a difference in strategy, not substance.

umm isn't Arizona the state that is in the process of booting all the illegals out?

didn't the current rep. president also try to push amnesty thru for all his big business buddies?

it almost worked until voters around the country started calling & emailing their reps. & the true voice of the people was heard loud & clear!

viva la dumbazzes!

If that was really "the true voice of the people" and not just the loud and disproportionately shrill voice of a few loonie haters, Tancredo would be the nominee, not McCain.

Sorry, but the silent majority - good people, not haters - spoke volumes when they participated in a process that culminated in McCain getting the nod

Not enough of them to nominate someone of their choice, was there?
