A good portion of "processing time" is really just waiting for your turn. Then there is the time between the individual steps.

It would be ridiculous to think there was more than a couple hours of actual work involved in most cases.

I guess the rest of their time and budget DHS spends perfecting the shades of the "color coded threat levels".

That's why also we pay $355 for an hour of their time. Amazing efficiency.

They are just taking their time, no rush for family matters for them.

Everything employment or politically important takes priority.

in 90s family cases were a priority and would take 90 days from application filing to visa in hand. But that was a long time ago...

Well sometimes I understand how they work,... i mean, they have to stop all those fake marriages and it's something computers can't do... but still the process is way too slow...

I am trying my level best to understand USCIS process, too.. I have no other choice!
