Me and my fiance is starting to worry now about our application for K1 at Vermont last June 27,almost 3 weeks but our check is not encash yet and no Noa1. One VJ member lose their application at California and waited almost a month but find out lose. I am worried so much. For us who applied , TIME IS SO PRECIOUS TO US. Really frustrating. Some July filers already recieved NOA1 , how come they skipped us. :(

Hi Guys, Didn't you send the application with return receipt requested, or tracking number? Never send anything to USCIS without that. The other thing is this is a long process. Time is precious, and waiting is frustrating, but you need to work on relaxing a bit and being patient.

We sent it through USPS and we have tracking number of it and they recieved on June 30.We are trying to be patient as much as we can do, but sometimes frustration wins. We are trying to be strong with all these trials.... Thank you so much!

It looks like VSC has slowed down considerably compared to the first quarter of this year. As long as you have the tracking number and you have the proof that the package was received at VSC you have a reference for follow-up. I would wait another week and then call VSC to check. I remember reading posts where it took 2 months in some cases until the check was cashed.

In every difficulty lies an island of opportunity.

ohhhhhh 2 months just for NOA1?It is just like Noa 2 ... I would feel very upset if that will happen.......I hope they will practice FIFO first in first out process.

The timeline graphs http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...ge=k1historical are showing an average of 10 days to receive the NOA1 from Vermont. But it's hard to know if people put in their timelines the date shown on the receipt VSC sends (I did) or if they put the date they got it snail mail. Our snail mail receipt took a long time to come but the date on it was at least a week to 10 days earlier. At least you know your petition arrived. Did you write a check for $455 and did you remember to sign it and put it in the packet? If people get that part wrong, they often send it all back to you. If you don't have it by the end of this week, I would call and keep calling until maybe you will find somebody that will look it up. Sometimes people don't get the paper in the mail and find out their case number and info over the phone. Sometimes the person that answers isn't very helpful. So call until you get lucky and get the information you need. Don't wait a month before looking into it because those should come quickly.

If it makes u feel any better, the VSC received my application June 23 and still NOTHINGH!!! No NOA1 and no check cashed. This really sucks. I had a failed engagement before and I had my NOA 2 in 3 weeks, so this is killing me. Keep in touch with me and let me know what happens. My fiancee is also in the Philkippines so we have the same Visa Journey :)

It does not seem consistant at all, out application was received in VSC on the 30th June and we had the NOA1 in the post on the 5th July............ I dont understand it I thought it went in order, let's hope that every one who is still waiting hears something soon, and we all have a fast RFE free Journey

Sending positive thoughts to everyone!!!!!!!!

I know it's not easy but all good things are worth waiting for

I don't know if my experience will help or hinder those of you still waiting for NOA1 or not but I will share anyway.

We originally sent our packet off at the beginning of Feb (return receipt with USPS) after a few weeks going by without the return receipt ... returning ... or the cheque being cashed we called and they had no record of us on their system. Back then NOA1's were being sent out the same day the application was delivered so we were probably right to worry. We waited another week and still nothing so we decided to get another package together and re-send it over night with Fedex. We had online tracking and could see that the application had actually been delivered, our cheque was cashed a few days after and NOA1 came in 5 days.

All of that being said the timelines and wait periods are very different now to what they were then. We also didn't have confirmation that our package had been delivered so that was pointing us in the "lost application" direction too. We called USCIS customer services several times to check whether or not we had been put on the system (we weren't) and we also checked with VJ to see whether there were others still waiting (there wasn't.) Our original application never surfaced and will probably remain in a USPS store room under a table for 20 years before being found. Lots of people told us to be patient and that it would come but things just didn't stack up for me. I'm not suggesting that you send another application off today however it might be a good time to make sure that one is ready so that you can re-send it if your NOA1 still doesn't arrive in the next few weeks.

Good Luck with your journey.

I had the same problem at the end of February. After 1 month nothing and we had to send in a 2nd copy. They never did find the original. I would advise sending in a 2nd copy now , and on the cover letter make sure you say it is a 2nd copy.

The exact same thing has happened to us! We filed on June 11. Still haven't heard back. No NOA1, no cheque cashed, called the USCIS and they have no record of our package on their system. We even got a return signature receipt from the postal service saying they had delivered it. It is now July 17. So it's been over a month. We are right now completing a second package and getting ready to send that. Does anyone have any tips on what we should do differently this time? I mean, should we write in a cover letter saying that this is our second package and our first one got lost?
