Our AOS interview, originally scheduled for mid-April, was cancelled. We're still waiting for a new letter. H has been introduced to the sublime nightmare that is the NVC Customer (dis)Service hotline... he couldn't believe there was nothing we could do to reschedule for ourselves, so I told him to call for himself. Hah. Over a year in the US and he still can't get a driver's license... talk about grrrr.

Has anyone had an interview scheduled (or rescheduled) in the NYC area this spring?

Summer 2004: Began work on 129f; joined VJ rather than hiring a lawyer

I-129f Submission & Approval
Oct 19, 2004: I-129f to VSC
Oct 29: NOA2 online -- approved in 6 days, 10/23 to 10/29!

From NVC to Consulate & All the Way Home...
Nov 8, 2004: Case to Casablanca
Feb 23: Interview; CO said they'll call in 2-3 weeks
Mar 2: Casa calls; visa in hand the next day!
Mar 24: Arrival at JFK; over four hours waiting, but got an EAD
April 15, 2005: Married

AOS
Aug 10, 2005: AOS/EAD/AP to Chicago
Nov 12: AOS prints taken

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009:
EAD renewals often delayed. (?)
Info-Pass officials will say only that "other authorities" are handling our case; we eventually got our Senator's office involved
Spring 2009: A letter arrives, saying his 2005 fingerprints have expired and need to be updated. We head down to Indy and get his prints redone.
June 2009: We FINALLY get the AOS interview letter just shy of FOUR YEARS since submission of AOS application...

July 2009: after the interview, his 10-year Green Card arrives. Alle-freaking-luia.

Application in progress, 2015. We divorced in 2012 but are still good friends. E is helping organize H's application for Naturalization... fingers crossed!

Ummm.... so, why hasn't he received his EAD/AP yet? Maybe I missed something?

04-27-06 - Approval

05-17-06 - Green Card in hand

02-11-08 - File to remove conditions

03-15-08 - Biometrics

03-18-09 - Approved - No interview (Card production ordered)

03-24-09 - 10-year card arrives!

Ummm.... so, why hasn't he received his EAD/AP yet? Maybe I missed something?

AP was approved late last fall (see sig). EAD NOA1 came last fall saying to wait for a Biometics appointment letter... and no letter ever came. We called the NVC three times starting in January and supposedly had a "check" issued on his EAD case status in February, or so said an NVC guy. The NVC guy said a letter about the status check would come in 4-6 weeks, but no letter ever came. So in March we got a letter for his AOS interview to be held in mid-April, but then a cancellation letter arrived one week before. At an InfoPass appointment that same week, a woman at Federal Plaza in NYC said that the EAD had been approved months before (wish somebody could have told us that at the NVC when we called the three times before...!) His EAD card finally came two weeks ago... with a valid date from October '05 to this October.

So all three -- AP, EAD, and AOS -- went to Chicago last August, and all we have to show for it since two weeks ago is his AP and an EAD card that'll expire in 6 months.

Turds. All of them.

The NVC can suck my... umm, thumb. :thumbs: Yeah.

Anyway. That's the whole story. If anybody else has any clue what's been going on in New York recently, I'd love to know.
