I sent my fiancee all the documents she would need back in August of 07......her interview is coming up and I'm wondering if I should update all the documents I sent her along with the I134.

How long is I134 valid for?

Thanks in advance

For sure you will need to update the evidence as they will require your 2007 tax return and proof of current earnings

YMMV

Timeline

I-134 should be fairly recent, no more than a few months old.

Counselor officer can ask for recent IRS return, and there has been a filing deadline between then and now.

One thing about I-134, the directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

  • I-134 signed and notarized.

  • SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

  • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

  • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

  • Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I actually had to file an extension for my 07 tax returns because of accounting issues with my previous employer. However they have my 05-06 returns.

I hope that doesnt become an issue.

send an e-mail to the consulate and ask..... The I-134 is optional in Kiev... AN I-134 without sufficient supporting documents however is not.

Do you draw a salary? Do you have current employment letter with paystubs?

YMMV

They have so far my 05, 06 taxes and about 4 months of bank statements all since I started this process about 10 months ago....

I am now in the process of sending my fiancee an updated I-134, employer letter, and bank letter. Just to be on the safe side.

The employment letter update...explains position, annual salary, and date of employment...would that be enough?

YTD = Year To Date. Can you or can you not demonstrate YTD earnings? No, the letter you describe doesn't demonstrate YTD earnings. Nobody can tell you what will be enough. At best we can tell you the best practices and what is likely not to be enough.

From what I've experienced and seen others experience, I've learned the better approach is to do all you can to comply with the best practices and actual requirements. And in a conversation seeking help, it's best to answer direct questions, directly.

Based on the tax info they have on me its shows income of 120k annually....my previous employer went bankrupt.....and my current salary is of 60k annually which is what my letter states. But in my HR department they did not put the YTD in the letter. They followed the instructions stated on the 1-134.

II. Supporting evidence. B.

Date and Nature of Employment

Salary paid

Wether position is temporary or permanent

The question was whether you dan demonstrate YTD earnings. Commonly this is done with pay stubs, not employer letters. Don't your pay stubs have a YTD amount on them?
