I called them to ask about my information and then they gave me a touch and an approval 1 week after. I think everybody should be calling just so that your case can be touched. Hang in there March filers. I hope everybody gets some good news by the end of the month.

happyinlove012408 can you please tell us what you did or what you asked when you called so you got a touch?

I called and they just gave me ususal "wait it will be soon" thing, not even resulting in a touch..

I hear quite a bit that people call and get a touch, and few days later an approval, I think we should do same.

We are worried that our March files got passed and just sit there.

fedup - please try to call your congressman's office. USCIS has to reply to congress officials with case status within a time frame. they are supposed to help you coz quite honestly, you pay their salaries...do me a favor, and call their office and see what they say...

Hi all VJers,

I have filed for my wife's CR-1/IR-1 in first week of march. I have been looking at Delicia's spreadsheet and I see that lot of march and april filers from CSC are getting approved. I have been so depressed/sad/sick about nothing happening to my case that I have stopped coming to VJ. I am writing this after a long break....For people who haven't gotten an approval yet, do you guys see any touches to your file? Have you tried contacting to USCIS about your case delay???

CS

The waiting is hard anyway you look at it. Comparing time lines with one another can be helpful, but I don't recommend it when it makes you feel bad.

It is always going to be bitter-sweet when you see someone who filed after you get approved at any point along this process. In USCIS speak, a little over four months is a short time. When you're separated from the love of your life and dealing with the unknown, it seems like forever.

Comparing ourselves or situations with others, and coming to negative conclusions, always impairs the enjoyment of life.

I am a late Feb early March filer at VSC. I havent had a single touch since March. I have contacted VSC several times but I get the same old excuses every time. There are few May 2008 filers already approved but some filers from 2007 are still waiting so there is no guarantee or real estimate of when our cases will be processed. Just hang in there and focus your attention on something else. Often things happen when you least expect them so TONSOFPATIENCE is what's required.

Note to Lotospatience - pun intended :-)

As I wrote earlier, at CSC, where we and crazysamurai filed, most of Feb, March, April filers are approved, they do not have a backlog from long ago like at VSC.

It is clear looking at the VJ timeline for CSC only, almost none left unapproved, except for a 2 week window in the beginning of March. Obviously it is kind of worrying, hope they will catch up soon with our files too.

As far as patience goes, most of us, who are currently separated from our loved ones do not have a luxury of being able to "focus on something else". Too bad we can not do anything about it now, apart from trying to induce some touches to any of our mid March files, just in case they are left behind and hoping they will be found and brought forward.. Looks like it worked for some, from what I hear on posts. I called, and will call again later this week, can think of an excuse or two.

Fedup - I completely understand where you are coming from. It is definitely not easy to focus on something else when our mind is 200 percent occupied by one and only question i.e when will we get approved?? I am probably one of the few members who have been seperated from their spouses for more than one year. I first applied for I-130 and I-129F in April 2007, both of them got denied in Jan 2008 and then I re-filed in Feb/March 2008. So all in all I have been seperated from my wife for 15 months now and still dont know how many more months of waiting. So I have already gone through the ups and downs, mostly downs of this whole process. But if there is one thing that I have learned through all this is diverting my attention to anything but the visa process has helped me to remain Sane not just for me but for my wife as well. We are all into this struggle together and I will have you and everyone else in my prayers. Good luck!

I have been so down lately....I have lost all interest in my work and other activities... Knowing that people are getting approved ahead of us while lot of us are left behind just makes me so frustrated and sick....It seems there is no end to this stupidity.....

Hi March Filers!

Called CSC today, the officer was nice and polite. Put me on hold for 10 minutes, made me think that maybe our cases were misplaced somewhere and she had to look for them. When she came back on line, she said that the case is "already assigned to the officer/adjudicator for processing", and filing an inquiry or expedite request will stop and pull the case back.

Asked how long it will take for the case to reach the adjudicator and get processed, she replied not more than few weeks depending on the workload of the adjudicator.

Sooo... I hope our case, as well as the rest of delayed CSC March cases should be done very shortly!

Let's keep out spirits up, this will make us and our families stronger.

Thanks Happyinlove, I just feel better for now that I got something more than the usual "wait, it will be processed soon", at least it sounds like the file is moving finally, and hope the same is with other March files.

I do not see a touch in the system yet, maybe will show up later after the database update.

Oh boy do I hear you. I'm definitely making myself sick with the stress and worry from all of this. My NOA1 was issued March 12 then we were touched at the end of June, but nothing since. I think I might be under extra scrutiny due to my previous petition or the fact that our marriage certificate is from a tribal rather than state court (my hubby is native american).

Whats worse is that I was fine waiting for the processing time posted on the USCIS site, but when I saw the touch with no approval I started poking around this site more and learned how quickly most are approved. Now I've gone completely OCD and check my case status every hour within Pacific Time business hours and am making myself crazier with each passing day. I need my internet connection to die so I can regain some sanity. LOL

My husband used to get different answers in a day talking to different reps on a simple question that he asked "has the file been assigned to an adjudicator?"

So, you may want to call to talk to another rep and ask the same question.

Not all calls get touches, if it does, usually the next day, for us.

The online status doesn't always reflect the status ironically. Our I-130 has been approved for a week now, we received no email, no status change. It still currently showing "RFE received and processing resumed".

I still do not see a touch.... If as I was told it is on the way for adjudication and the officer was assigned, shouldn't I see a touch? Also after today's call?

Do touches appear same day, or next day after servers update?

Anyone knows?

My husband used to get different answers in a day talking to different reps on a simple question that he asked "has the file been assigned to an adjudicator?"

So, you may want to call to talk to another rep and ask the same question.

Not all calls get touches, if it does, usually the next day, for us.

The online status doesn't always reflect the status ironically. Our I-130 has been approved for a week now, we received no email, no status change. It still currently showing "RFE received and processing resumed".

Leah

Thanks for your info! I do hope that something really is happening with the file at last.. when I called it did sound like she tried to help and get the file, I was on hold over 10 minutes before she told me it is gone to adjudicator.

I will try calling again just to make sure.

About touches, it appears that we should not even worry, I was just hoping that a touch would actually be some kind of proof that the file was moved or touched.

I assume you found out about your approval over the phone? or when you received the hard copy NOA2 ?
