My husband is working.

Monthly salary is not what I wish it would be. One day (sigh).

We fight tooth and nail NOT to send money back. They bug us right around each and every pay day. On occassion, we send money back.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I think I answered wrong too...my spouse is working but I the USC don't...I think maybe the question was meant more for USCs and if their SO worked? I don't know.

Not going to say the salary part

Yes, actually we send money to India every month but it's not really gift or support money. We co-own something with Sujeet's family so we pay every month our share. It's kind of an investment. It helps them in a way but it's also our thing. But there were times we needed to send every month to help out when a problem happened with pensions not being disbursed by the govt in India (grr!!). Thankfully that got sorted out but it took a year or so! I am glad we could help them from getting into major financial problems. No one calls us begging for money.

Anyway this is all Sujeet's salary, so if we have it available I am not going to stop him. If I only worked or we had no extra to send over, it'd be a problem. But he wouldn't be irresponsible with sending money, he is too budget oriented. I think people who's SO is from a not so poor country or whose family has a lot of money don't understand why some people might need or want to send money home. Of course how much they are able to make here has a big impact on if they can responsibly send money home. If I moved from a poorer country to a richer country, made my own money and had extra, I would definitely send some to my family. I haven't had to be in the situation.
