Hello,

I had my visa interview about 2 months ago. Everything was fine, the IO was nice and professional. IO said that everything is fine but further administrative processing is needed. When I asked what kind of admin. process. was it, she said "a background check in DC". She said it will take up to 1 month.

It's been over 2 months and I am still waiting for their phone call . I sent them a couple of email and they still reply" your case is still undergoing additional administrative process...."

Does anyone know how much time this processing takes? Would it help if my wife and I hire an immigration attorney?

Thank you so much for you help.

Bb

Have your senator check into what's happening.

Maybe have a lawyer "standing by" in case you are denied.

Our petition was approved and sent to the NVC in the beginning of May and wasnt forwarded to the embassy until the end of June. It was also sent to DC for administrative processing at that time. It is my understanding that Administrative Processing can happen at all levels. So this is not unusual and unfortunately, there is no timeframe for it to be finished in AP. I know this is very frustrating. Hope you get your visa quickly :clock:
