Hello..for my husband's plane ticket i am planning to book him a flight to honolulu via PAL and a connecting flight to LA via United Airlines....i wanted to know if Honolulu is what we are going to consider his point of entry?? is that where he would encounter all the immigration officers or would it be in LAX? I am a little confuse......

Fisrt airport that is on American soil or has a pre-clearance facility.... Honolulu for you on that routing

Honolulu will be his POE. They will take the brown envelope and if asked, his X-Ray from St. Luke's. (they did asked my wife's)

After he passes immigration, he'll have to claim his luggage (if any) as they don't transfer luggage and pass customs. Then he'll have to go to United Airlines section to check-in to his connecting flight.
