President Bush intends to lift a presidential moratorium on drilling for oil and natural gas on the Outer Continental Shelf, the White House said on Monday.

...

Mr. Bush will announce the lifting of an executive order, which was first issued by his father in 1990 and was renewed by Bill Clinton, on Monday afternoon in the Rose Garden of the White House, according to Mr. Bush’s press secretary, Dana M. Perino.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Or...we can continue to import 70% of our energy consumption and continue with the largest transfer of wealth in human history out of our country.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

That's not the only alternative option available...and Bush knows that. The quickest and most cost effective ways we can reduce our dependency on Foreign Oil is reducing our consumption...and a lot can be done in that area alone.

Great...he just recently rejected the option to raise fuel efficiency standards. He's a hardcore oil man...to the bone.

As if the American people cannot decide what type of vehicles they should buy? Maybe we need another dose of "Big Brother" to force Americans to buy the appropriate vehicles "Big Brother" has decided we should buy?

I think I can make my own decisions. There are high mileage vehicles available. If Americans want them we will buy them.

The Fed already affects the auto market in many ways. When faced with all the consequences of using oil, I don't think it's over-reaching to have higher fuel efficiency standards. We already have regulations on cars that produce too much smog. All it takes is the political will for better regulations.

Reducing our consumption would be quick?

I'm not questioning effective.

Do you know how long it will be before we'd see any oil from new drilling?
