I think you are mistaken.

The person who gets interviewed is the foreigner (applicant, beneficiary) who is living outside the US. Not the American wife living in USA.

If you have a lawyer, he should have made this clear to you.

He didn't say he couldn't find any job. He gave what sounded to me like excuses for not working. I didn't hear him say that he looked for work but couldn't find it. Did you? A tough job market isn't an excuse not to try. And what I'm seeing is someone who isn't trying.

Also, while one person's spouse would rather them go to school another might prefer he work. And that is the case here.

Perhaps he didn't explain himself well, but it doesn't mean he hasn't tried. Only he can answer that, but we shouldn't make assumptions. Keep in mind that English is not his first language. It really isn't easy there. I have been there several times and I have seen it first hand.

the job market in Morocco is zero, if you dont own and run a small busines or have connections within family or friends there are no jobs as we know here. My BIL is a teacher, you would think good...he has to travel over a hr each way to get to the school...another problem..most dont have cars. Ahmed owns and runs a store that has come down thru the family..prices there keep increasing also...alot come wanting credit...he makes nothing to speak of..it is a bad situation there

oh, but I'm the petitioner in the US (US Citizen), and I had a local office interview for the I-130.. the standard interview should be for the petitioner living in the US.. this is different from the regular interview that everyone gets at the Consulate.. sort of a "pre-interview"... that's to clarify for you..

He needs to see her side and she needs to see his. But her requests are not unreasonable. He can't just say "everything will be alright" to her without having a plan. Right now my husband and I are carving out a plan C.

They need to talk and he needs to be practical. Life doesn't just work out (in general) without planning and effort. Going to the US doesn't solve all of their problems if they have a gap in values. So they need to work on these issues as a couple and that is given each of their limitations. If their limitations exceed their capacity to deal, there's no choice but to divorce. But I don't think this couple is anywhere near that point. They need to open their hearts to one another and, to do the damned hard work that's necessary when you make a commitment like marriage. Just because they didn't work this stuff out before marriage doesn't give them an out. They need to do that work now. And I think they can if they truly want the marriage and are willing to also work on themselves as individuals. This is the time to get outside of their comfort zones and to grow up. If they pull this off, their marriage will be truly strong.
