Well you have three weeks still hopefully all will be OK...

As for photocopies of tax returns, since the "original" is on file with the IRS it is difficult to present the original. Photocopies are good, unless Manila has specific instructions to the contrary.

IRS transcripts are not the same as what is typically referred to as an ITR... ITR means "Individual Tax Return" or Form 1040. The information is suppose to be the same but they are different.

Considering the length of time to get a scheduled interview and if it were me, I would attend the interview and then submit the required info after getting the 221(g).

hi fwaguy. VJ member rmncm suggested Global Express Guarantee. It takes about 3 days to deliver the documents so I'm hoping that I won't have to postpone the interview or attend the interview with incomplete documents.

Hmm... so the form 1040 isn't the same as the IRS transcript? now i'm getting nervous and a bit confused. all my husband requested for was his Irs transcript, since from the feedback I got from the forums, Irs transcript is already inclusive of form 1040 and w-2. according to the packet 4 of the embassy, they need both the form 1040 and w-2.......................

During my interview, I prepared the notarized I134, form 1040, W2, letter of employment, pay slips, bank statements, certificate of his portfolio/stocks. The prescreener asked for I 134, form 1040 and W2. If I remeber correctly, the form 1040 and W2 I had were photocopies only. But the prescreener didnt mind that being just photocopies.

Goodluck on your interview..get the fastest courier.

from what i've read in the IRS website, the form w-2 is not automatically included in the requested Irs transcript. It is considered an attachment and it would cost $39. i'm still trying to do a bit more research. getting really nervous cus all we requested for was the IRs...

he worked in the philippines for a year so he doesn't have any tax returns 2007-2008. he is working in the US but just to be on the safe side, his mom is our co-sponsor.

They should be satisfied with one or the other... Either the transcript or the COMPLETE form 1040 (incl. w-2's and other schedules and attachments)

my mediocre intellect cannot comprehend the apparent contradiction in the IRS website. help!!! what do u guys make of this?

If you need an exact copy of a previously filed and processed return and all attachments (including Form W-2 (PDF)), you must complete Form 4506 (PDF), Request for Copy of Tax Return and mail it to the IRS address in the instructions along with a $39 fee for each tax year requested. Copies are generally available for returns filed in the current and past 6 years.

The quickest way to obtain a copy of a prior year Form W-2 (PDF) is through your employer. If that is not possible, you can order and pay for copies of your entire return (attachments include Form W-2 (PDF)) from IRS, or order Form W-2 (PDF) information at no charge from the IRS. The IRS can provide Form W-2 (PDF) information for up to 10 years
