Wedding Proposal

He proposed to me while we were in a little boat on a lake. I remember he started talking about his family & started taking his necklace off. My first thought was "what the hell is he doing?" then i heard the proposal & was all :wow: . he said that he kept searching for the perfect ring, but he knew that i am extremely picky about jewelry. So he gave me his necklace...it has deep sentimental value, since he had been wearing it for 15 years.

I feel all mushy when I see really old pictures of him & the necklace is around his neck. :luv:

The only thing that was a little distracting, was that our daughter was in the boat too! She was 1 & wearing this huge, pink float vest. So she was looking & acting a little odd. The pictures are hilarious. :lol:

That was cool... :thumbs:

he bought me a ticket to Costa Rica :) and spent my birthday together wehehe and proposed to me in front of his dad... Oh my I was blushing, happy but so shy coz he's dad was listening...

Sweet.... :star::star::star:

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all that I am, in the only way I know how -- completely and forever......

I am just curious how did men propose to their wives...

Care to share???

At Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland. I popped the question while I had the video camera rolling. I must say, we were getting odd looks from the tourists.

Ugandan's don't really do proposals, they just kind of talk about the future and agree. My finance and I had talked about the future a lot and both knew we wanted to marry each other, so I wasn't really expecting a proposal. In April I was planning on moving home to US, after almost 3 years in Uganda. We spent our last night togeather in and amazing hotel, we were laying on top of the bed watching tv, he muted the tv turned to me and he said, "I wish I could do something to make you stay, but I know that the God who brought us togeather will bring you make to me." Then he pulls out this really funny looking elephant (I collect them) and says and I want to to have this to remember me by. I kind of remember thinking what? because it was a really dorky elephant . Then he lifts up the elephant and under it was the ring, and he said and I want you to have this and ask you if you will be my wife. It was so sweet! I am not really sure where he even got the idea of a proposal because I never talked about it and I know he hasn't seen much American tv or anything.
