I am just curious how did men propose to their wives...

Care to share???

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all that I am, in the only way I know how -- completely and forever......

We were visiting my dad in San Diego and had gone to a Chinese restaurant that a friend of the family owns... when we were through eating, the waitress brought the fortune cookies. Inside the fortune cookies he had slipped his own fortunes inside. They said "Confucious says, man without wife...have quiet life. Will you marry me?"

It was funny because both fortunes were the same, so it didn't matter which one I picked up. I wasn't going to eat my fortune cookie, he kept after me to pick one. And then I didn't read the fortune at first I flipped it over to look for the Powerball numbers, but there weren't any. LOL. It was a very suspenseful time for him, I think.

"wait i was just about to give you a ring, gagi" oh well let me see it..:D and its gorgeous... Love it and i love him.. but i cant still get over the shock.. i then ask him to move.. heheheh :bonk:

On the phone.

And then again in writing with my ring.

And again in person and again. We love asking and replying again and again.

My husband sent me a gift with fortune cookie. :) I found a great fortune...

Let me share a part of my personal blog early January..

Last week.. I became so emotional and so happy.. I wasn't expecting that he would stretch his hands for a big surprise. Imagine how I felt.. It was something so good but words are not enough to explain. It was not the ring but the effort he has made. It was not how big the diamond is but how much he loves me and how eager he is to spend his whole life with me. It is not about the value of the ring but about the way he values my importance in his life. I have never thought that eating fortune cookie would be that fun if you will find a lifetime fortune inside. I am happy to spend my whole life with this man. I know he will take good care of me with all his heart and would protect me as much as he could.I feel so blessed that I was able to find a man whom I am going to spend the rest of my life with. What else should i ask for?

We didn't have anything so unique happen b/c of time constraints. He left the actual proposal to happen in India when I visited, but we already knew we wanted to marry each other. I mean we talked about our future and stuff, so I knew we'd become officially engaged in India. I didn't call him my fiance until after I went to India. Before that, I didn't call him my boyfriend either. It's a weird thing when your relationship starts online and I guess I just called him Sujeet, the person I was in love with haha. We got a ring made there in India with a piece of a ring from my grandmother, put into an Indian gold setting. My dad was there so he videoed the proposal so my mom and family and friends in the US could see it when we got home. So the sweet part was what Sujeet said during the proposal, at least I didn't know everything about that part. :P Also Sujeet didn't know much anything about the way ppl propose in the US, planning elaborate things. Sometimes he says he wishes we met here and he could have done some cute proposal surprise now that he sees how it's done a lot in the US. I don't care, it was a good moment anyway. :)

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

I had found a company willing to hire me in the USA, but it was in Connecticut and not Missouri (where he lives). And we were reading a lot about immigration, we knew that I may not get the visa for the job, and we wasn't to happy about having to go to Connecticut. So we started saying that we'd better get married, even though it meant we would spend more time apart. So I told the company that I declined their offer, and we started the K1 visa process a month later. This was in December (I-129F sent at the beginning of January).

Then a month and a half later, for Valentine's Day he bought me a ring. I had to go to a store to know my ring size, then convert it in US ring sizes. When he got the ring, he "officially" proposed in front of the webcam, the ring in a hand, knee on the floor, and everything. It was nice :D

he looked at me lovingly and said "Well do you want to get married, biotch?

 just kidding

it was kind of a spur of the moment thing.... it was our second face to face meeting and we were staying at this lovely Bed and Breakfast in the hills... Earlier in the weekend we were talking and he asked me if I wanted to be with him for the rest of my life with him and I said yes of course....

then on the day we were leaving we were hugging and kissing and I can't remember exactly how it came up.... I think we were joking around and I said something like hey you need to make an honest women of me and he said , hmm maybe.... or something.. and then he looked at me and said, "will you marry me, Marilyn K_____?" and of course I said, YES!!!"
