Can you leave your cellphone by Embassy security? or are they very strict on not bringing cellphone on interview?

On July 1st, both my wife and I left our cell phones at security with an ID.

Bringing electronic devices like cellphone and digicam inside the US embassy premises is strictly prohibited. I don't have any idea if you can leave it to security guard. But there are fixers outside that they let your cellphone left with them with a charge but dont know how secure your cellphone/digicam is.

Good luck on ur coming interview!!!! God bless!!!!!

That is the same thing that happened to us last year when my husband and I were about to get the Legal Capacity. They took my cellphone and digicam and asked me to leave one ID then they gave me a number that i can use in claiming my gadgets.

But if I were you, just to be safe, do not bring any gadgets and that is what I will do on my interview :)

My fiancee had her father wait outside of the Embassy during her interview. She just gave the phone to him.

Yea well if you have someone willing to wait for you outside then you can give them your cell but if you are going alone like I did better to leave it at home.

U.S Citizens are allowed to leave cellphone at the entrance of the embassy with one id. but if you're a filipina or filipino they won't allow you. Me and my husband went there last june 30 and they let us to leave the cp there with one ID but those old filipinos who will go to the V.A, they didn't let them have their cp left there so they needed to go outside and leave it there with those vendors.

Did the Americans buy the Philippines yet?? I didnt know of that! :bonk:

Well, for security purposes, tech gadgets are not allowed in the USEM premises. Just leave your cellphone at home, in the hotel or if you have someone that will wait for you outside USEM.

As far as I know, any US Embassy in any Country is consired American soil so it's understandable that USCs will always have preference.
