Hello my new question is why if k3 has more paperwork than ir1 does it cost more and what are the benifit of one over the other? Will i need to file more paper work for her to be able to work here with one and not another?

thanx

K-3 Does not cost anything. As long as you file I-130 and pay the fee, when you file the I-129F the fee is waived. As far as timing, K-3 might be a few months faster than IR-1. And with K-3 you do have more paperwork when she comes to US because you have to file for adjustment of status. With IR-1 she enters with a green card, so there is less paperwork.

K3 requires additional paperwork in order to travel (outside the US) and work in the US. Plus you will be required to file a AOS to immigrant status.

CR1 is issued to you if married less than 2 years at the POE. You will be required to Adjust Status after a few years to get a 10 year GC. IR1 is issued if you have been married for at least 2 years at the POE. No AOS is necessary and you get a 10 year GC. Both CR1 and IR1 get a GC to work.

A K-3 does not necessarily require more paperwork in order to travel outside the US, as the K-3 is a 2 year multi-entry visa. In order to work and or receive a greencard, yes more paper required.....

YMMV

My mistake, fwaguy thanks for correcting me. You would only file AP if your K3 expires and your AOS is being processed.
