Browsing the amazon.com book titles I found this one:

Fiance & Marriage Visas: A Couple's Guide to U.S. Immigration (Paperback)

by Ilona M. Bray (Author), Carl Falstrom (Contributor)

I did not buy it but I was able to browsed it using the "Search Inside" featured that amazon.com offers. I found a few answers to some of my questions, for instance I overstayed my turist visa in the in 1983, however, this should not affect my process since it happened before April 1st, 1997 when by immigration laws, any overstay for over 180 days or more is penalized with a ban to enter the us for three or ten years depending on the length of the overstay, this took effect after April 1997. So any overstay before that date should not affect requesting a new visa. What a releif!

I think it may be worth getting this book.

Jonas Edward Salk (October 28, 1914 – June 23, 1995)

Albert Bruce Sabin (August 26, 1906 – March 3, 1993)

I purchased this book long before I ever found this website. It was very helpful in explaining the immigration process to someone who was unfamiliar with it. It was especially helpful when it came to filling out the immigration forms. I would highly recommend it.
