Hey guys! I have a question for you..

I have a J1 visa, but it has already expired in October, 2006, so I overstayed it for like 2 years almost, and during that time I worked using my SSN and paid taxes and everything. Now I'm married to a US citizen ( almost 3 months ) and we were wondering what papers we should fill out to get a green card and how it all is supposed to work..

Thank you! I appreciate any advice!

Did your J1 have a two-year residency requirement? If not, just go ahead and file your I-485. All overstays and unauthorized employment will be forgiven. What ever you do, do not leave the country until your green card is in hand, regardless if you receive your AP in a few months.

Concurrently filed I-130 will also be required... Without there is no basis for status adjustment.

YMMV
