I'll be back to make sure you're all being good

dont see thats any concern of yours either

Oh, but it is if I am the subject matter, now isn't it?

Rebeccajo, yeah, I guess you could say I am a glutton for tempests in teacups :)

pretty sure most times we have enough other subjects to talk on, best thing would be to not put yourself in that position i guess.

So last night huuby and I went grocery shopping. We spent about $75 and this is what we got:

English muffins

Milk

Eggs

Donut holes

Cookies

3 12 pks of soda

1 case water

3 apricots

4 nectarines

4 bananas

3 plums

Thats it. I can't believe how expensive eveything is and we didn't even buy meat! How you ladies grocery shop to feed a family without breaking the bank?

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

With the baby on the way, it's actually starting to freak me out. I think if I wanted to fully stock my fridge weekly, it would cost me about $200-$250 a week. I have no clue how to portion things out or how to save money on things. I always buy whats on sale but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

I know what you mean. I guess I should start cutting out those coupons, but half the time they are for things I don't need or want.

You have to eat and you have to eat as well as you can afford. You'll have to find other expenses to cut down on. I am considering downgrading my cable, that will net me an additional $30/month.

As an emergency measure, I also may reduce my 401k withholding to the minimum required to get the maximum employer match and also stopping scheduled prepayments on my mortgage. That should net me an extra 700, after taxes.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I try to do a lot of the shopping at costco, its usually hideous at the checkout but of course in the long run its cheaper. we have a freezer in the garage so I can buy the bulk stuff and throw it in the freezer. In the summer we try to buy as much of the fresh stuff at the farmers market, mainly because its more delicious but its always cheaper too. I freeze some of that too, berries freeze really well and I got a flat of blueberries last week for 8 bucks.... and then stocking up on the weekly sale items at the grocery store. I have a husband, a teenage boy and a baby in the house so very little ends up going to waste even though sometimes when I am unloading my week's finds my husband seems skeptical that we will use it all. however he is the first to be happy when I whip up a cake on a sunday afternoon (because I bought 6 cake mixes last time they were on sale for 99 cents) :P
