OK...I gotta ask.... for all the non tagalog-fluent VJers. What is a balikbayan box????? Just curious!

A balikbayan box (literally returnee's box) is a ubiquitous cardboard box containing any number of small items and sent by an overseas Filipino known as a "balikbayan". Though often shipped by freight forwarders specializing in balikbayan boxes by sea, such boxes can be brought by Filipinos returning to the Philippines by air.

I haven't visited the PI in 20 years, and that term was never known to me. Thanks Your answer begs another question though. What small items are typically included.

Unlike DHL or Fedex, there is much less restrictions in sending a box from us. For as long as there is no liquid and perishable item in the box then you are ready to go.

and

JUMBO box is 24 X 18 X 24 (inches)
