Because I was stuck in AP for about 15 months my wife had come to Canada and brought her car (gifted it to me) now that we have finally recieved the visa we have some concerns and would really appreciate some advice:

- CAR: Since the car was originally from the US and we had imported it to Canada. Does anyone know what the process is for a car imported from the us being returned back to US? If we go by plane can we declare the car (and other things we want to bring) and then take it to US later? will there be any duty or taxes on it?

- What about household furniture, appliances, computer etc. can we still bring them from canada lets say after 2 or 3 months?

- Since we did IR-1 and I will get a temp PR stamp on my passport. Should I wait until I get my green card to come back to Canada or travel should not be a problem on my Canadian passport and PR stamp on passport?

You have up to 10 years to import your household goods. Your car, I would imagine, would be treated as any other car registered in another country and being brought into the US. If you go to the CBP.gov site and enter your search words in the FAQ's you will get your answers. Here's a couple to get you started:

Moving to the US - How long do I have to move my personal belongings?

Importing a US version or conforming vehicle
