"Biometrics" used to be called "fingerprinting". I think they started calling it "biometrics" when they began scanning the prints electronically instead of doing the ink and paper fingerprints.

Employment authorization is supposed to be within 90 days of receipt of the application. If you don't get it in 90 days, you can make an infopass appointment at your local office and request an interim EAD.

Green card depends on how slow or fast your district office is. Click on "processing times" at the top of the page to see what timelines your local district office is reporting. Keep in mind that is only an estimate and they are not updated everyday so it could be a bit off.

First of all Congratulations to both of you! It's good to hear that you already have a biometrics appointment for your AOS and EAD. Usually, EAD is mailed to you two weeks after biometrics. I just don't know if this applies to all. AOS usually is processed much longer. It takes around 6months from the time of application but still this depends on what state you're in. Some gets the greencard without an interview and some has their interview but still gets their Greencard after ten days of their interview. I hope this helps a little bit. Goodluck and God Bless to you!
