After we recieve our 2nd noa... what does the US petitioner have to do after this? Is there anything else from here on out that the petitioner has to do in the US... or is everything else that is needed done in the foreign country?

For example the affidavit of support. when is this done? does the packet 3 tell you which affidavit of support it wants or whatever, because my thought is that since we got the 2nd noa and we are just waiting for the NVC to recieve the papers, and what not, I would just fly down there on a tourist visa and wait with my fiance until her interview day... does anyone know exactly what happens from the 2nd noa approval on? HELP PLEASE :(

She will receive a packet from the Consulate. It will contain visa application forms, etc., and tell her all the necessary things she will require to have at the interview. One of the item will be the I134 Aff. of Support. When she has all the required docuements, she will notify the Consulate by returning the checklist. They will then prob schedule a medical and an interview.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

We just received our NOA2 and I am in the process of gathering evidence of our ongoing relationship, and also filling out the I-134 and supporting documents and I will have it notarized this week. My fiance has not received packet 3, and his case isn't even at the NVC yet. If I were you I would start gathering everything now to send as soon as you can. It's a good idea to do the I-134 now. Good luck!

I think you need to contact the embassy in Brazil to ask them which form to use for a K-1 petition. I think that usually it's the I-130 for fiances but you should make sure.

Right about asking Brazil (tho I suspect they will send instructions when they mail out packet 3 to your fiancee) - except the affidavit of support is form I 134, not I 130.

You can start preparing the form, but I would wait to sign it and have it notorised (this is required) until closer to the interview. Which affadavit you need depends entirely on what the Brazilian consulate wants - you can't choose which one to use.

As to visiting Brazil, that would probably be fine. Of course, that is a matter for the Brazilian authorities. From a US POV I can't see why there would be an objection.

The initial mystery that attends any journey is: how did the traveller reach his starting point in the first place?

The consulate in Brazil should tell you which affadavit you need - it is usually the I-134 for fiances. You should also give your fiance a packet of things to prove your relationship - sometimes at consulate interviews they require the same kind of information that you sent for the initial petition - I have heard stories of intervieews in Mexico who were told that they had to come back with photo albums, phone bills, emails, etc. all to prove the relationship even though it was already deemed "proven" by approval of the I-129F petition! Now the Mexico consulate is definitely backwards in the way they do things and the lack of information they provide, but it wouldn't hurt for you to be prepared.

There is no reason you cannot go to Brazil and be with your fiance assuming you can get a visa - if you don't already have one, get started now because I remember when I got one it was quite a pain. Also, you'll want to double check if the consulate there will allow you at the interview - Mexico doesn't allow fiances but then again they are *ss backwards.

Good luck!
