P and I were talking about getting one ages ago because we like fizzy water and it's so effing expensive here in the US.

I like it too...helps settle my stomach. Jinky says she has to drink a soda after she eats to help her belch...lol. I'm thinking this would be a perfect gift. :)

It seems like a good investment if you like soda or soda water. Plus I like the idea of not having a kajillion plastic bottles around.

I had one!!! Seriously, like 4 years ago. I still get emails from the company with offers and the like.

A couple of things I noticed - the regular syrups had some artificial sweetener in them. If you try to avoid aspartame or sucrolose it may not be the thing for you. If you drink fizzy water/seltzer like a fish you will save a TON of money. The bottles are reusable and clean well but they recommend replacing them every year [i think it is] because of the extreme pressure they go under with each carbonation cycle.

There were maybe 15-20 flavors of syrup and we only liked about 6-8 of them - the others weren't bad, just not something I would drink.

Oh, and the other weird thing, the CO2 canisters can't be shipped via normal methods [postal service or UPS], they had to be sent by courier and someone had to be home to sign for them. Something about a controlled compressed gas or somesuch.

We must have made 100s of liters with one canister of CO2.

The ex got it in the divorce - I miss it.

We had these back in the late 50's and early 60's, but they were pretty nasty.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

because they are ORM-D (other regulated material) they have to be shipped by ground or sea. No air.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
