I didn't realize he wasn't for amnesty to begin with, so it helped me. Goes to show how much I pay attention..honestly, I could barely care less anymore, except for thinking of those still going through these processes legally. Goes to show how much I pay attention to anything that comes of out W's mouth. M.

edited to add: ya know..I realize that sounds bad..to be so uneducated about politics..but then I think too..aside from watching the debates, papers,etc..at voting time..what the heck can I do about it anyway...??? dunno.

I pay attention only because its important. I am scared everytime he addresses the nation, although watching/listenting to him speak is like watching a train wreck. Its all like a very bad joke/dream and I cant wake up. Pitiful.

He doesn't call it amnesty...but he still wants to allow them to become legal...WITHOUT returning home...and in front of hundreds of thousands of relatives of USC and permanent residents that have patiently been waiting through the legal process.

Where is the government going to find 6,000 extra Border Agents?

The salary and working conditions suck and the requirements to be an Agent are pretty high in comparison to other similiar jobs.

The one thing I took away from his "speech" was that all the people here illegally will have to get in line-after those of us that are going about things the legal way.....................that I agree with 100 %

I don't think there is any clear-cut answer to fix the problem, but 12 million illegals is about 12 million too many in my opinion.

I know he talks sh*t but he did emphasize that people here illegally will have to "get in line" behind those of us that are going about the immigration process the legal way. That part I remember :P

and the funny thing.. in a USA i read a few weeks ago.. there were some numbers that explained that in 2004 they detained more illegals with less people, than in 2005 that they had like 3,000 or 4,000 agents more..

Yeah, not sure you watched the same speech as me. I distinctly remember him saying the illegals would get in line behind everyone else. Maybe you should have paid more attention.

I think the lie is simpler than that, the day they sign this bill, these people will be grandfathered in awaiting status.. much like a K3 er.. Just apply for a work permit.. How much you want to bet they will have a temporary work permit process thats so fast it will make your head spin? They will be sorting this ####### out for years, people will be getting in this line forever.

they can stand in line for deacades for all I care-I just don't want to see anyone get screwed-I mean those of us that have filed the paperwork, waited, paid the fees-actually did things the "legal" way. I know nothing in life is fair, but I will snap if millions get visa's quicker than everyone else.
