NVC is done now what?

I called the NVC and they told me we are just waiting for the Interview. They didnt send the case to the embassy. They said they assign interview on the 2nd week of every month.

Can someone tell me how this process works and what we are suppose to do next.

The NVC will schedule the interview. A confirmation letter will be sent to the agent of choice. In the mean time, you can call the State Department (202) 663-1225. Press 0 to speak with a representative. Be sure to have your case number available. Call on Tuesday or Thursday after 3 PM (EST). When I checked my husband's interview status, I called twice in one day. The first representative stated that a date had not been scheduled. However, in the afternoon the status had changed.
