cool. the article reminded me of my friend's brother who drove their mom's jeep into their swimming pool and then tried to pretend it wasn't him.

bwahahahaha I'd have liked to have heard those explanations...

I hear about this a lot lately since having Kavi. So many people say "oh good, a boy, they are much easier than girls!!" I just say "really??". I don't buy it. lol. Growing up, me and my sis never gave my parents a hard time, and my girl relatives and friends were the good ones compared to their brothers. So I guess I saw a lot of bad examples of boys. I was scared to have a boy until a friend had one and he turned out to be a sweet good kid. But I swear a lot of people say girls whine too much and are harder to deal with...I have experienced the opposite about girls. When I worked with kids, the girls were better behaved than the boys too. So I don't know about boys being easier. I hope Kavi is easy.

I have 2 boys (13 & 10) and one girl (8). While they all have tested my patience, I'd say the boys are definitely more difficult. My daughter likes to make sure I'm happy, whereas the boys could care less about my feelings. I do hope they grow out of this phase; if not, they're moving out at age 18, whether thet are ready to or not!

ETA: Re what stina said - girls tend to be whiney. Oh yeaah! my daughter is also a very high maintenance diva. Even still, easier to deal with than my sons.

I think that Marilyn has hit the jackpot. Easier in what ways? When my brother and I were growing up it was moi who caused all the fracas in the household - my bro was a little angelic child right up until he went to college when he morphed. I have a boy who is now 9 and he is adorable to bring up at the moment, but when the testosterone starts in? Who knows?

I guess I really believe each child is an indvidual and will bring you both joy and heartbreak no matter if boy or girl.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

My sister has 5 boys and swears they are easier. I have 4 girls, and I think I agree with her....lol

Seriously, I think it depends more on what we as parents are like. Some can handle the rough tumble boys and some can handle the drama girls better.

I only have a daughter right now. But we will see in February since my wife is pregnant. But from my experience with having a brother and two sisters. I would easily say that it was much much easier on my parents with the girls. Me and my brother were always getting in trouble and causing problems for my parents.

And teachers in school would always ask me why I couldn't be more like my sisters.

But I think that my daughter is very easy to raise. OK, as easy to raise as a child can be.

I have 3 boys 1 girl, I really didnt find a difference when they were getting potty trained at all, but I also dont seem to think one is easier then the other. I've been told to wait till my daughter gets to be a teenager cause thats when all hell breaks loose. She just turned 13. My oldest will be 17yr old soon and hes pretty easy going the odd time he gets a little fresh but thats it. The 14yr old well other then him being bored atm we normally dont hear a sound from him. Now my youngest well hes just full of energy but still well behaved he just needs to have a tasks and hes good to go. Maybe in another 10yrs I might have some good stuff to tell ya.

I am not sure why one would be automatically easier than the other, beyond for potty training purposes.

Maybe it is hard to tell right now because infants and toddlers and preschoolers are pretty unisex creatures. I haven't seen any behavior out of my daughter that I haven't seen also exhibited by other boys her age so far.

I think probably personality in general has more to do with it than gender, but what do I know about kids really? I just take this parenting thing one day at a time. :P
