Simple Question

I am going to be getting married here soon in the philippines. I was told that at the embassy I need to show proof of divorce to get the addviat to marry. I have a Divorce certificate, I had read something about a divorce decree. I thought they were one in the same. I found out they are not. Do I need both or will the divorce certificate be enough.

Any help will be nice?

the divorce cert. as long as it has a stamp from court that it was final will be ok. thats all i had when i went to embassy was just final court papers with the stamp when it was final good luck and congratulations

what we used was divorce decree which was signed by a judge and a commissioner and has a stamp from madison county.

in addition to my prev post, ours was notarized and has state seal

thank you for everybodys help. I am still confused as too if the document I have will be enough. It looks like I will have to call the embassy.

I dont have a court stamp but I do have the state seal and the court offical signature. On the top of the vital record it says Oregon department of human resources health division. Center for health statistics. Record of dissoulution of marriage or annulment.

Any thoughts on this would help out alot
