Hi all,

Its been very interesting reading everyone's journey so far. I am about to begin this process with my soon-to-be fiancee.

Here is the basic info:

1. Im a US citizen

2. She is a Canadian but living in Hong Kong

We are hoping to submit our K1 packet when she comes to visit in July of this year (2006) and then hoping the process will go through and she can move here in June (2007). I have a couple of questions I maybe being dense about.

1. Where in all the paperwork does it say what consulate or embassy she will do the interview in once we get to that stage?

2. Do you all think it is beneficial to put in the letters of intent that we hope to be living together by June of 2007?

Thats it for the moment, thanks in advance, humbly,

Ramos

Ramos,

Have you looked at the I-129f petition yet?

Agree with TracyTN. There's no harm in adding it in if it makes you feel better, but it won't likely make any difference to the speed at which the application is processed.

Assuming your case is simple, I'd say your chances of being together by June 2007 are pretty decent.

The initial mystery that attends any journey is: how did the traveller reach his starting point in the first place?

If she is living in Hong Kong legally, that's where she'll have her interview - they do it in the country of legal residence, so if you're a student or on a working visa you don't have to fly back to where you came from just to do the interview...

STAGE 2B - Applying for AOS to GC Approval - 9 months, 4 days (279 days)

STAGE 3 - Lifting Conditions. Filing (19 Dec 2007) to Approval (December 11 2008)
