do I need proof of relationship

Hi all,

I have been reading several post on k1 visa interviews, and I found out that they keep taking about proof of relationship. I don't know if it is also required of spouses. I have my marriage cerificate and all the documents that were requseted.

The only evidence that is required is the marriage certificate. No other evidence is required of the relationship for spouses for the petition.

But I've just noted you are past that stage.

You should have on hand for the interview evidence of the marriage/relationship.

Howdy!! I took lots of evidence for my CR-1 interview in Montreal. They never looked at any of it, but better safe than sorry!!!

I took loads of stuff to the embassy in london and they didnt want any of it they just wanted the marriage certificate.

Yes marriage visas are to have proof as well. We took plenty but not looked at. It depends on whom the interviewer is and what country or consulate your dealing with. We had wedding photos, emails back to 2003, cards, letters, and phone records from the landline calls. Good luck.

I took a lot as well, they wanted to see pictures.

For consulate interviews, I think it is important to remember that each country is different and what you may be expected to show will differ too. I often see here where those from VWP countries give advice to posters from high fraud countries as if they were in the same situation and they are not. I would recommend that much more weight be applied to advice from those interviewing at the same consulate.

Exactly every embassy/Consualte are different, even ones in the same country!!
