Should I file a K3 now?

We decided not to do the K3 last year when we filed as we didn't mind a slightly longer wait (oh the irony) and thought it would be better to save our money. However we seem to have got caught up in the mess at VSC from last year and have not had any word on our petition since the NOA1 in January.

I'm wondering if filing the form for the K3 would at least make them dig out our petition from under whatever pile of old coats it's hidden under to pair up with the I-129F and then it might be looked at?

Any thoughts?

Isma, dont delay your life...Because if you had tried before you would be with your spouse in USA already.

Especially if your center is California. So try your k3 as soon as possible, is better to save money for to be with your love now, than later...because you will spend money with another small things hehe

yes, most definitely. it is never too late to file for a k3 visa while awaiting the approval of the I-130. in fact, from what i've observed in other people's timelines, a lot of people who filed last year are still awaiting approval and those who filed at a later date this year, got approved pretty quick. maybe those who filed last year were caught up in a backlog.

moreover, i've seen a lot of simultaneous I-129F and I-130 approvals filed this year.

Its Vermont Center, Oh, but its OK...This year will be different than 2007...We need just to be positive Some people from March and Febraury was approved already...so its comin your time

I am esentialy in the same boat as you. My initial I-130 filing was just before the fee increase around July 28 by express mail. It sat unopened in Vermont until all the applications were sent to Chicago. Then around Feb 1st. REJECTED!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot to sign a form . So I fixed it and sent it back to Chicago. 1 week later REJECTED!!!!!!!!!!! . They wanted the higher fee . Why not an RFE!!!!!!!!!! So finally it was accepted Feb 29th and I got NOA1. Ever since I've been waiting. Not a single touch . My wife has gotten more religious and has no faith in the process any more. She is going to meditate for 3 days to hope things get better and I can't afford to visit her until she gets her visa. I HATE VSC and hope the all go to hell . As soon as they approve my application.
