Hi guys, what's up..

My fiance and i are having alittle difficulty with the invitations.. we need help with the contents of it..WE do have a maiden of honor, Best man, and 3 brides maid.. I would like to add a sponsor like you know "ninong and NInang " i would just like to add two.. he doesnt agree why others name should be in the invitation.. but of course being brought up as pinay and attended wedding of all sorts, i always knew that there are ninongs and ninangs and the wedding entourage appear in the wedding invitations.. right? but Mike just want to make it simple like "Me and him are inviating your presence iblah blah to be held blah blah ...food, wine, and merrment blah blah blah..

then RSVP to ######

why is it so simple? like no life?

am i being unreasonable in wanting an entourage and have their name in the invitation like you know the entourage page... I think its just normal... or not?

😁

I dont have ninong and ninang here in the US because it's not uso here. I told my hubby we call them primary sponsor...and he asked "like they are going to SPONSOR our wedding?"

I made our wedding invitation by myself with the help of photoshop.

A love poem and a world Map highlighting USA and pinas and a couple on the foreground printed on a special glossy paper, the wedding entourage printed in vellum paper placed on top of the glossy paper, and the wedding announcement (names, date, venue, etc) on another vellum paper. Wala na ninong at ninang. You can have ninong and ninang when u get married in pinas..we will have our philippine wedding too in the years to come and i told my hubby this time we are having ninongs and ninangs ;)

Looks like you've got yourself in a culture mis-match here :). For Americans, it is not customary to include entourage on the invites. Generally, it's either bride/groom or names of the parents and bride/groom when it's the parents who are paying for the wedding. Hope you guys will work it out :)

Thanks Shining angel,

that was nice..:D i might tell mike about that.. justa make a simple invitation you know..

you are welcome...i was a little bit sad too before about not having ninongs and ninangs, but then again why insist on something that has no meaning to them? so even we can find people to be our ninong and ninong, i dont think they will understand that does it mean to be a ninong or a ninang.

u can always have the wedding u always dreamed of when u go back to pinas..mas mura pa :) good luck.

hi, i did my invites 2 months ago...just put you and your husband's name then the place, time, address of ceremony...you can also add an except/article/poen on love/relationship. then you have to include a response card (coz rsvp is the thing here, unlike in the philippines where everybody can come, including those you didnt really invite, hehehe)..it has it's separate self-addressed and stamped envelope, then include that in your invitation envelope...the response card includes when people should respond by and the food options. the entourage or what they call here the bridal party you can put in your wedding program (for the ceremony) and no sponsors! good luck and congratulations!

PS if you're making the invites yourself you can buy precut cards from stationery stores, cheap but elegant looking! this way you dont have a hard time cutting and printing

We just had our names, place and time of wedding/reception and rsvp. we inserted a small card that we registered in Bed Bath and Beyond and Walmart for our wedding gifts. Actually , I find the invitations here simpler without the long names of the wedding entourage and sponsor. I also noticed before I left the Philippines when I ordered our wedding invitation that a lot of couples had their invitations just like the way they do it here, just the couples names.

Goodluck.

in our case, i already make a wedding invitation, but it was the cover part only, we will just do all the printing in US for we dont have any date yet as to when is the wedding. on our wedding invitation, it is just almost the same as the style here in philippines, only that the Principal Sponsors will be deleted and some other entourage, then the rest are just the same. First page would be a bible verse about wedding/love then a picture of us together; second page would be the name of the parents, couple, and those who are part of the wedding entourage, time, date, reception, officiating minister; 3rd page would be, our message of gratitude to our parents, message to each other as couple, and a message to Almighty God.

Attached is a sample of our wedding invitation cover.
