I am hoping to receive my green card around August and planning to travel to Tahiti for our honeymoon on october.

Has anyone traveled there before with their green cards? Do I need to apply a french visa?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post...

Please give me some advice.

Thank you!

Visa needs are based on one's country of citizenship. Other than for a few exceptions (typically for countries immediately surrounding the US), your greencard does not change your visa requirement.

YMMV

If you have a Us passport you can use it, but with your philipines passport, you need a visa.

On the airport they only ask you for your passport, not really your country of citisenship.

Good luck

OP hopes to have their green card by August, so they will not be a US citizen for several years. Yes, as a citizen of the Philippines they will need a visa even for less than a month. They will show the green card on return to the US.

Looks like my brain stopped working half way through searching the information, I forgot about citizenship.

The link is useful however because it gives instructions on what documents are needed to obtain the visa.

It might be best however to take a look on the website of the French embassy in the Phillipines to see if they mention anything different.
