Dear Laura:

Good luck on your last day at work. Not too many more days and you and Nick can be together for good!

I wish you all the best.

Jen!!!!!!

How completely thoughtful of you!

Thank you honey! :D

Yesterday my Lowe's family gave me a huge book filled with pictures of everyone in the store, it was signed full of well wishes and lovely comments. I was moved to tears.

It's bittersweet. I've never had a job like Lowe's...sure, it's retail but....they have treated me so well, I will miss them all very very much.

My very dear friend and coworker Shelby is throwing a party for me on Sunday and many people are coming out....I still can't believe the love and friendships I have made over just an 8 month period, it's incredible.

Today is going to be tough so I thank you so very much for thinking of me.

:) ~Laura

Ditto on that! :star:

I love you M xoxoxo

Its nice when one gets a nice send off. Enjoy the day

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Ditto - working with nice people is always a super plus!!!

I am sure they are just happy to get rid of your smelly azz, but that's another story

Ignore Grandma, she didn't have her prunes and is all stopped up. I'm sure today was a bittersweet experience for you but Nick will be here soon to take you away to the bucolic splendour of New Jersey. We all luv you (L) , especially the other Cloacina twin who's trying to hide it behind a rather pungent olfactory assault. Hang in there.

Aw, yes, it is bittersweet! How nice of your coworkers to give you such a sweet bon voyage party. Is there a chance that you can get a job at a Lowe's near where you are moving? Or has that already been discussed?

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

What a roller coaster of emotion.

Good thing I had kleenex on me the entire day.

I cried, laughed, and cried some more.

I got more thoughtful gifts and so much support and love from people I've only known for 8 months. Unreal.

I am excited to start this next chapter of my life but part of me will always miss them...they were such a great, amazing group of people to work with.

Thanks to you guys too...You have made this journey so memorable and wonderful. I love you guys muchly.

P.S. Yes Kathryn, my store Manager has contacted corporate and the store down in the States that I'm closest to and they are working something out for me. I have letters of recommendation from many of my managers...I think I'll be ok in finding work at a Lowe's.

:)

Wow Laura, I'm so pleased for you!!

I know it's hard, but it only gets easier from now on.

My daughter cried and cried on her last day of school, and I told her the same thing.

It's hard to close a chapter of your life, but the next chapter is around the corner.

Good luck sweetness, you deserve it!! (L)
